THE HEROES
For our tribe, we chose Purple to represent what the Heroes embody, as purple is the color of good judgment and spiritual fulfillment.
Detailed into the background of the flag are the fourteen locations of iSurv1vor, each one a unique experience for a group of castaways from the smallest game at thirteen, to the largest at twenty-seven. Since this game is at an historic number, it is only fitting that the previous seasons be recognized and acknowledged just as much as the Heroes and Villains of the past who made their season unique.
The two torches, staying true to traditional Survivor fashion, represent life in this game as well as marking the second All-Star season. The "Heroes" logo we adapted from the NBC Show but the idea originally came from the custom banner that was posted in Kings Island jokingly referencing the core group in that show to this one. This was also the first real bonding experience for us as a team, and has became a recurring joke ever since.
Each member of the tribe took what they believed to be key components of a Hero and contributed this to the flag along with their reason below;
Erik chose "Sex Appeal" because well, cmon, let's be honest...look at this tribe! Heroes are typically easy on the eyes, and this game is no exception. The villains don't even come close to the raw sexuality of the Heroes tribe.
Tucker chose "Courage" to portray that a Hero requires this ability to go above and beyond the call of duty, be it to help a team mate, to sacrifice their needs above others and stand accountable for their actions.
Jordan chose "Integrity" because its one of the hallmark qualities of a Hero and also to represent a Hero's commitment to sincerity, even in the face of a game as cutthroat as Survivor.
Stephen chose "Valor" because it represents the boldness, raw determination and gallant attitude that the Heroes possess against worthy competitors.
Clayton chose "Loyalty", because a true Hero is devoted & stays faithful to their word & allegiances. Loyalty is a quality all true heroes have.
Jamie chose "Compassion" because as Heroes, if one person falls, there will be a whole group behind them to alleviate their suffering and help them push on to realize their potential.
Ashley chose "Honour" because that is what we will be doing this season. We will be honouring past alumni for the amazing games they played and the hosts for having such creativity. How, you ask? Through our game play and the hints we got from the best of the best and kicking butt in the amazing challenges created for us. Without you guys we wouldn't be here right now. We salute you all!
Erin decided on "friendship.". Friendship adds a little spice to our lives. Friendship is based off of trust, faith, and concern for each other. As bitter as this game may be, everyone makes a friend. That friend is your harbor during this crazy game. A hero is always there for their friends.
Morgan chose "Love" because love is what moves the world, it truly is what the world needs currently with all the awful things that are happening. Love is the most powerful thing a human can have and it truly helps you conquer all the odds. A true hero knows that the power of love is important and is able to look at the world through loving eyes.
Allan chose "Respect" because too many people get caught up in the game and forget this exists. This team will uphold the best of respect for each other and our opponents.
And finally, Tom chose "Donna" because more than any other word in the English language, this beautiful name typifies everything a true Hero represents. Grace. Elegance. Maturity. (Grand)motherly kindness. And all of the aforementioned characteristics listed above. This flag is a reflection of the most heroic person to ever play iSurv1vor: the one, the only, the ageless...Donna.
